A fan, follower, supporter, colleague or other person may nominate a creator.
Where this occurs, we may receive personal information about the creator from the person making the nomination.
This may include a creator name, social-media handles, public profile links, category and reasons for the nomination.
We may verify relevant information using publicly available creator profiles.
We may contact the nominated creator before publishing a full nominee profile or using material requiring additional permission.

UK Content Creator Awards does not generally need applicants or nominators to provide sensitive personal information that is unrelated to an award entry.
Please avoid providing unnecessary information relating to matters such as health, political opinions, religion, sexual orientation or other special-category personal information.
Where such information is voluntarily provided and is not required, we may omit it from public profiles.
Where we intentionally process special-category personal information, we will identify the applicable lawful basis and additional condition required by data-protection law.
6. Why we use personal information

(r) maintain legitimate historical records;
(s) manage complaints and disputes; and
(t) send marketing communications where permitted.
7. Our lawful bases
Different lawful bases may apply depending upon the activity.
We may rely upon:
Contract where processing is necessary to provide a service, ticket, sponsorship arrangement or participation requested by you, or to take steps before entering into a contract.
Legitimate interests where processing is reasonably necessary to operate, secure, promote and administer UK Content Creator Awards and those interests are not overridden by an individual's rights.
Legitimate interests may include administering nominations, verifying creator information, operating public voting, preventing fraud, publishing expected nominee information, answering enquiries, maintaining business records and protecting legal rights.
Consent where you freely agree to a specified activity, such as certain marketing communications.
Legal obligation where processing is required by law.
Where special-category information is intentionally processed, an appropriate additional condition will also be identified where required.
8. Public nominee information
Where a creator becomes an approved nominee, certain information is intended to be publicly available.
This may include:
the creator or stage name;
profile image;
award category;
biography or nomination description;
public creator handles;
links to public channels or creator profiles;
voting page;
finalist status; and
winner status where applicable.
Private contact information supplied for administration is not intended to form part of the public nominee profile.
9. Photographs and promotional material
Where photographs or other media are supplied by an authorised person, they may be used for:
(a) nominee profiles;
(b) voting pages;
(c) voting artwork;
(d) finalist graphics;
(e) winner announcements;
(f) websites;
(g) social media;
(h) press and publicity;
(i) event promotion;
(j) email campaigns;
(k) event displays;
(l) promotional videos; and
(m) legitimate historical awards material.
Images may be cropped, resized, compressed, sharpened, colour corrected, retouched, enhanced, upscaled, incorporated into branded artwork or have backgrounds removed or replaced.
10. AI-assisted processing
UK Content Creator Awards may use artificial-intelligence-assisted and other automated creative tools in its production processes.
Authorised photographs or Submitted Content may therefore be processed using technology for purposes including:
(a) image enhancement;
(b) upscaling;
(c) sharpening;
(d) resolution improvement;
(e) colour or lighting correction;
(f) background isolation;
(g) background removal or replacement;
(h) graphic and layout preparation; and
(i) related creative production.
Our purpose is to create or improve awards-related material.
Use of an AI-assisted tool does not transfer ownership of a creator's original photograph to UK Content Creator Awards.
We consider relevant privacy, security and data-processing arrangements when selecting technology providers used to process identifiable personal information.
Where a provider would process identifiable personal information for a materially different purpose of its own, we will consider whether additional transparency, safeguards, consent or another lawful basis is required.
11. Voting information and fraud prevention
We may process information including:
IP addresses;
device information;
timestamps;
email or account information;
voting activity; and
voting patterns
for the purpose of operating and protecting public voting.
Automated systems may assist in identifying suspicious voting activity.
Where appropriate, suspicious activity may be manually reviewed before votes are invalidated.
Voting-security information is not used to infer unrelated personal characteristics about voters.
12. Marketing
Operational messages about an application, nomination, voting, ticket purchase, sponsorship enquiry or event participation are not necessarily marketing communications.
Where we send direct electronic marketing to individuals, we will comply with applicable UK data-protection and electronic-marketing rules.
Where consent is required, it will be requested separately through a clear affirmative action.
Marketing consent is optional and should not be bundled into acceptance of the Terms & Conditions.
Recipients may withdraw marketing consent or unsubscribe at any time.
The current application form already separates its optional marketing choice from mandatory acceptance of the Terms and Privacy Policy, which is the correct basic structure. Current ICO guidance also says electronic marketing consent should be a positive action and separate from general terms where consent is being relied upon.
13. Sponsors, partners and third-party opportunities
UK Content Creator Awards may offer opportunities involving sponsors or commercial partners.
Participation in the awards does not automatically mean that your personal contact information will be supplied to sponsors for unrelated marketing.
Where a person actively requests information, an introduction or an opportunity from a third party, relevant information may be provided where this has been clearly explained and an appropriate lawful basis exists.
14. Service providers and other recipients
We may share or allow processing of personal information with organisations providing services including:
(a) website hosting;
(b) cloud storage;
(c) email delivery;
(d) ticketing;
(e) payment processing;
(f) analytics;
(g) voting technology;
(h) cybersecurity and fraud prevention;
(i) social-media services;
(j) graphic-design and creative tools;
(k) AI-assisted technology;
(l) photography and videography;
(m) event production;
(n) professional advisers; and
(o) other services reasonably required to operate UK Content Creator Awards.
Where suppliers process personal information on our behalf, appropriate contractual arrangements will be used where required.
We may disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
We do not sell personal information.
15. International processing
Some technology providers and other suppliers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom.
Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will use an applicable adequacy arrangement, contractual mechanism or other recognised safeguard.
Further information about applicable safeguards may be requested by contacting us.
16. Event photography and filming
UK Content Creator Awards events may be photographed, filmed and recorded.
This may include red-carpet photography, interviews, award presentations, stage footage and general event coverage.
Such material may be used for event reporting, websites, social media, publicity, future promotion and legitimate historical archives.
Where reasonably practicable, event notices will inform attendees that photography or filming is taking place.
Anyone with a particular privacy or personal-safety concern should contact us or speak with the event team.
17. Cookies and similar technologies
Our websites may use cookies and similar technologies.
Some technologies may be necessary for essential website functionality, voting, security or fraud prevention.
Where consent is legally required for analytics, advertising or other non-essential technologies, an appropriate consent mechanism will be used.
Users should have a suitable way to manage non-essential cookie preferences.
Further details may be provided through a separate Cookie Policy or cookie-management interface.
18. How long we retain personal information
We do not retain every type of personal information for the same period.
Retention depends upon factors including:
the reason information was collected;
whether the relevant awards cycle remains active;
whether information forms part of a legitimate historical record;
legal and accounting requirements;
fraud-prevention and voting-security needs;
whether a complaint or dispute remains unresolved; and
whether information remains reasonably required to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
Nominee, finalist, winner and event records may be retained as part of the legitimate historical record of UK Content Creator Awards.
Published photographs, videos, results and promotional material may remain within legitimate historical coverage and archives where there is a continuing lawful basis.
Voting-security data will be retained only for an appropriate period required for voting verification, security, fraud prevention and dispute handling.
Financial information may be retained for periods required by tax, accounting and applicable law.
Marketing suppression information may be retained where necessary to ensure that somebody who opted out is not inadvertently contacted again.
Information that is no longer reasonably required will be deleted or anonymised where appropriate.
19. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, misuse and disclosure.
No internet-based service can be guaranteed completely secure.
20. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis involved, you may have rights including:
the right to access your personal information;
the right to request correction of inaccurate information;
the right to request erasure in certain circumstances;
the right to request restriction of processing;
the right to object to certain processing;
the right to data portability where applicable; and
the right to withdraw consent where processing relies upon consent.
These rights are not absolute and legal exemptions may apply.
Requests should be sent to [email protected]
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
21. Right to object
Where processing relies upon legitimate interests, you may have the right to object based upon your particular circumstances.
We will consider the objection and stop processing where data-protection law requires us to do so.
You have the right to object to processing for direct-marketing purposes.
22. Automated decision-making
We may use automated systems to assist with security, fraud detection and identification of suspicious voting activity.
We do not intend to make solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects on individuals without providing the protections required by applicable law.
23. Adults only
Applications and nominations are intended for people aged 18 and over.
We do not knowingly accept applications from creators who do not meet the published age requirement.
If we discover that personal information has been collected in circumstances where it should not have been, we will take appropriate action.
24. Third-party websites and creator platforms
Creator profiles and awards pages may contain links to independent websites, social networks, streaming platforms, subscription services or other creator platforms.
UK Content Creator Awards does not control the privacy practices of those independent services.
Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you visit them.
25. Complaints
If you have concerns about how UK Content Creator Awards uses your personal information, contact:
We will consider and investigate reasonable concerns.
You may also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
26. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy where our activities, suppliers, technology or legal obligations change.
The current version will be published on our website.
Where a material change requires additional notification or consent, we will take the steps required by applicable law.
